The charming, witty, and always-entertaining writer, humorist, and celebrity speaker Garrison Keillor is the host and writer of A Prairie Home Companion heard on public radio stations across the country. A Prairie Home Companion started production in 1974. Live every Saturday night, A Prairie Home Companion features comedy sketches, music, and Garrison Keillor's signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon." The show attracts more than two million listeners on more than 450 NPR stations weekly. It is also aired abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.

Lowell, MA - The Boston Pops and conductor Keith Lockhart will bring their ever-popular Holiday concert to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2:30pm. Tickets are $40.00, $60.00, $80.00 and $126.00 and go on sale Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10:00am. Mr. Lockhart will lead “America’s Orchestra,” joined by the inspiring Gloriae Dei Cantores choir, in a host of familiar holiday favorites such as the Pops’ signature “Sleigh Ride” and the traditional “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” Additionally, the family-friendly evening of classic seasonal favorites concludes with a visit from Santa and a holiday sing-along featuring “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Let It Snow,” “The Christmas Song,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “Jingle Bells.” All programs and artists are subject to change.

Boston Pops Holiday concerts began in 1974 with a three-concert series at Symphony Hall. Since then, public demand for the performances has increased dramatically, and this holiday season the Boston Pops will offer 32 concerts at Symphony Hall, in addition to its tour performances.
